Practical tips
What to know before your move in Eindhoven
Parking exemption — at least 5 working days ahead
In the city centre and several other zones, you'll need a temporary parking exemption for a moving van. Apply through Gemeente Eindhoven. Miss this and we may not be able to park at your door — and you still pay. We'll send you a reminder when planning your move.
Service lift booking in apartment buildings
Many buildings in Eindhoven — especially in Strijp-S and Woensel — require you to reserve the service lift. Contact your VvE or building manager at least a week before your move date. Forgetting this wastes expensive time. Tell us when booking and we'll send a reminder.
Expat or international? Plan early
Moving to Eindhoven from abroad, or leaving for the Benelux or Germany? We have experience with cross-border relocations. The admin is more complex than you'd expect — plan at least 2 weeks ahead and mention it in your request.
Summer peak: book 2 weeks ahead
July and August are the busiest months in Eindhoven, especially around TU/e and Fontys. Students move in large numbers. We fill up fast. Book at least two weeks ahead if you're moving in that period.
Municipality of Eindhoven
Register your move with the municipality
When moving to Eindhoven, you are required to register your new address with the municipality. This automatically updates your details with the tax authority, RDW and other agencies.

You can register your move from 4 weeks before your moving date up to 5 days after.
How
Online via MijnOverheid or DigiD on eindhoven.nl, or in person at the Stadskantoor (Stadhuisplein 10, Eindhoven).
Confirmation
You'll receive a confirmation letter within 14 days with your new registration details.
Automatic updates
The municipality automatically informs the Belastingdienst, RDW, UWV, SVB and your health insurer. You don't need to contact them separately.
